Dj Spit aka Eugen Danzinger started djing in 1992 in aGraz, Austria where he played
at the local nightclubs. Over there he was one of the first to bring drum-n-base
to his hometown. Later though his style became more and more influenced by techno,
electronic dance and clubmusic with an experimental approach.
In New York he performed at a variety of known clubs
and bars including museums like Ps1, galleries and openings. Out of the blue he
developed the legendary party series "modesty blaze" in cooperation with
partner John Zurhellen, which took place at several venues in manhattan and
featured guests like DjDimitri from Deelight, Taketo, Dj Nico, Dj Walter Wolf,
James Murphy(dfa/lcd-soundsystem), Markus(plant), Hiaz(Farmersmanual)to name a few.
Beeing a resident weekly guest at Nicoals Mazet parties at the passerby (chelsea) over the course of 2 years helped him to train his crossover style.
His experimental DiscoStyle is nowadays influenced by mixing digitally with a vestax
vci100 midicontroller which gives him more control over remixing tracks live.
Spit from Graz, Austria has been involved into various experimental music and dance music projects. Beeing a resident guest dj together with Nicolas Mazets over two years at the Passerby (Chelsea) helped him to train his crossover style. Also in New York he hosted the legendary party series "modesty blaze" in cooperation with partner John Zurhellen, which took place at several venues in Manhattan and Brooklyn and featured guests like DjDimitri from Deelight, Taketo, Nico, Dj Walter Wolf, Shitrobot (Dfa), Hiaz (Farmersmanual) to name a few. Nowadays he is located in Zurich hosting the stretchyourdisco partyseries, featuring brennan green, johnny chingas, baris k. and many more. His funky oldschool and grooveoriented yet broken and heavily electronic influenced style will most likely set some standards for the upcoming decades.
